Franklin County's jobless rate climbed nearly a point last month but still remains below the statewide average. Franklin County's jobless rate for June stood at 9%, up from 8.2% in May.
Despite the increase, Franklin County has one of the lowest jobless rates in the state. Geauga County, near Cleveland, had the state's lowest unemployment rate at 7.9%.
Williams County, in far Northwest Ohio, had the highest; 17.6% of its workforce is unemployed. Ohio's overall unemployment rate stands at 11.2%.
