Franklin County Reports Spike In Early Voting

With Election Day just one week away Franklin County voters are taking advantage of casting their ballots early. Franklin County Board of Elections spokesperson, Ben Piscitelli, says 2,352 people voted at Veterans' Memorial on Monday.

"And that's the second busiest day that we've had so far. It's second only to 2,408 voters that we had there on October 6th which was the deadline to register for the November election."

Piscitelli says he's not sure why Monday was such a busy day. He says the board of elections first thought the most early voters would show up during the lunch hour, but he says that has not been the case.

"There's really no rhyme or reason to this. People seem to show up when they want to."

Piscitelli says as of Monday more than 32-thousand-six-hundred people have voted in person at Vets' Memorial. Early voting is available daily through November Third.
