Ohio: Epicenter of Presidential Race

It appears increasingly likely that Republican nominee-in-waiting John McCain will introduce his vice-presidential pick tomorrow in Ohio.

An aide says McCain decided on a running mate early Thursday. No word yet on who it is. However, one top prospect, Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty, Thursday abruptly canceled numerous public appearances. Pawlenty was campaigning for McCain Monday in Columbus.

McCain is expected to announce his vice -presidential pick soon and appear with the person at a rally Friday in Dayton.

Democratic nominee Barack Obama and his running mate Joe Biden are scheduled to hold a rally Saturday evening at Dublin Coffman High School. The rally is part of a Democratic bus tour through the battleground states of Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan.
