Ohio State Part of National Consortium Studying Ways to More Quickly Move Medical Research from Lab

Ohio State University has been awarded $34 million to help find ways to reduce the time it takes to move medical research from the lab to the physician's office.

Dr. Rebecca Jackson is director of Ohio State's Center for Clinical and Translational Science, the center that will use the grant from the National Institutes of Health.

She says the grant will be used to develop interdisciplinary teams that will look at community health needs as well as disease-based research.

Dr. Rebecca Jackson is associate dean of clinical research at the Ohio State University College of Medicine. Ohio State is one of more than a dozen recipients of the NIH grants. Others include Harvard, the Einstein College of Medicine, Boston University and Stanford.
