Candidate Obama Rallies Ohio Supporters

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama brought his campaign yesterday to northeast Ohio, a key region for Democratic votes in the state. Obama focused on the economy during his trip to the economically depressed manufacturing region of Ohio. He toured a titanium plant in Niles in the morning, where he met with employees of R-T-I International Metals. Obama then spoke to a crowd of about 5,600 supporters at Youngstown State University. The U.S. senator from Illinois brought the Rust Belt crowd to its feet when he criticized the North American Free Trade Agreement, enacted while Bill Clinton was president. Afterward, Obama headed for Wisconsin, where he and Hillary Clinton were making a last-minute pitch for votes before that state's primary, set for today.
