Columbus City Council member Mary Jo Hudson will join the Ted Strickland administration. Hudson will leave Council to become Ohio's director of insurance.
Hudson worked for the Ohio Department of Insurance in the early 90's.
Hudson's departure will leave two vacant seats on Columbus City Council.
Council president Matt Habash Monday announced he is leaving to focus on his job as director of the Mid-Ohio Foodbank.
