The university is boosting security. OSU has hired an outside security company, at the cost of about $15,000 dollars a game, to check for prohibited items, such as weapons, coolers, food and beverages.
Resuming a policy from last year, University and Columbus police will continue to enforce open container laws. Drinking alcohol is not allowed on university property including parking lots and the stadium. The rules will also be enforced on High Street.
And for the first time this year, all tickets will be printed with a bar code. The private security workers will scan student tickets and check student ID cards as part of a new university policy to crack down on ticket scalping.
