Elections Officials: Smoking ban foes collected enough signatures

The Franklin County Board of Elections today says it certified the required number of signatures on petitions challenging a public ban on smoking.

The petitions were returned to city hall where a decision is pending on placement on the November ballot.

Columbus City Council approved the public smoking ban in late June to take effect on September 26th. Now, it appears Columbus city voters will decide the issue. The ban is on hold until then.
