Opponents to the recently passed Columbus smoking ban Wednesday officially launched their campaign to overturn it.
About 50 Columbus bar and restaurant owners filed into the buckeye hall of fame caf and collected the weapons of their fight against the smoking ban - petitions.
The group calling itself the Coalition to Can the Ban, which failed to stop city council from approving the smoking ban in bars and restaurants, now will try to get the issue on the November ballot.
The group needs to collect the signatures of 5,000 registered voters by July 28th.
The group presented survey results indicating employess and customers oppose smoking bans and stats they say shows smoking bans hurt business.
Leaders of Smoke Free Columbus, the main group supporting the ban, say they anticipated a ballot move and predict it will fail.
