Investigators say a bullet that struck a car's hood and cracked its windshield is the 19th in a series of shootings along or near a stretch of Columbus highway.
The driver was not injured in the January 11th shooting. Franklin County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Steve Martin says the man has been back to the scene with investigators and the area was searched.
It's the first shooting in nearly a month in the series that's targeted cars, school buses and buildings. A 62-year-old woman was killed in late November.
Martin says only bullet fragments were recovered, so it could not immediately be matched to seven others determined to have come from the same gun.
Martin says the victim saw other cars on Interstate 270 so he urges anyone who may have seen something suspicious to call investigators.
