It will be another week of remote learning for many Central Ohio students because of persistent staffing issues.
In Columbus City Schools, students at Devonshire Alternative Elementary School, Hilltonia Middle Schools and Woodpark Middle School as well as sixth grade at Walton are being told to stay home Monday. Building employees are still expected to report to work.
Columbus City Schools had as many as 17 schools operating remotely last Thursday. Twenty-four schools were scheduled to operate remotely Friday before the district declared a calamity and canceled all classes because of transportation issues.
The situation is worse in Reynoldsburg, where all preschool and high school students will once again learn remotely for the entire week because of a bus driver shortage. Classes will be in-person for kindergarten through eighth grade students with busing available.
Reynoldsburg plans to hold a bus driver job fair Monday from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the district’s bus garage at 7932 East Main Street.
In Westerville City Schools, all high schools are being released 30 minutes and middle school students released 20 minutes early Monday. Classes at the district’s McVay Elementary School were delayed one hour Monday.
