Columbus museums, concert venues, and performing arts organizations are keeping a close eye on the spread of the omicron variant in central Ohio.
The Columbus Symphony has canceled its New Year’s Family Celebration Concert for Kids that was scheduled for Sunday, January 9th.
According to its website, the National Veterans Memorial Museum will be closed through January 16 because of the coronavirus.
Ohio State is closing all concessions at athletic events for the time being. The same goes for concerts and other events at The Schottenstein Center.
"We continue to follow the city mask mandate and continue with the safety protocols that have been in place. We have increased our messaging inside and outside the venues emphasizing the importance of guests following the mask mandate," said Gary O'Brien, Director of Communications for Columbus Arena Sports and Entertainment (CASE), which manages concerts at the Schottenstein Center, Nationwide Arena and Ohio Stadium.
Folk rock band The Sweet Remains postponed their concert scheduled for January 15.
Brian Fallon canceled his January 21st show at Newport Music Hall because of the increase in COVID cases.
The Columbus Winter Beerfest 2022, slated for later this month at the Greater Columbus Convention Center, has been pushed back to mid-April.
