Seventeen Columbus City Schools will operate with remote learning because of continued staffing shortages.
The list of physical school buildings closed to students on Thursday include:
- Buckeye Middle School
- Duxberry Park Alternative Elementary School
- East Columbus Elementary School
- Fairmoor Elementary School
- Huy Elementary School
- Independence High School
- Johnson Park Middle School
- Linden-McKinley STEM Academy 7-12
- Parsons Elementary School
- Sherwood Middle School
- South High School 7-12
- Walnut Ridge High School
- West High School
- Whetstone High School
- Windsor STEM Academy Pre K-6
- Woodward Park Middle School and 6th Grade at Walden
- Yorktown Middle School
Eastmoor Academy was able to reopen for in-person classes Thursday after using remote learning the previous day. Valley Forge Elementary reopened after being closed because of a heating issue.
Seven Columbus schools operated remotely Wednesday, which was down from 13 on Tuesday.
Staffing shortages also continue affecting Reynoldsburg City Schools, which is having all preschool and high school students learn remotely through the end of the week.
Dublin City Schools this week shifted start and release times for preschool classes to free up bus drivers.
Westerville City Schools has temporarily moved some middle schools to remote learning, including Blendon Middle School on Thursday. The district has also delayed some elementary school bus routes.
Marion City Schools operated remotely Wednesday but planned to return to in-person classes Thursday.
