If there is one thing which sets Columbus apart from most cities, it's the sheer amount of amazing musical talent that calls Central Ohio home. It seems as though you could attend a concert every single day!
One such example is the music program at First Community Church. Week in and week out, they offer beautiful, uplifting, inspiring music as part of their multiple weekly services. In 2013, the choir was invited to Europe to perform in 8 venues, beginning in the Berlin Cathedral. Other stops were in Leipzig, Dresden, Prague, and Salzburg.
Classical 101 is privileged to be able to offer you the opportunity to hear them in two different settings for Easter weekend. On Friday evening at 9:00 pm, you'll hear music from their Good Friday service from 2015. Then on Easter Sunday at 3:00 pm, we present music from not only their 2015 Easter service, but highlights from two past years, as well.
The FCC Chancel Choir performs under the direction of Ronald J. Jenkins, Minister of Music and Liturgy at First Community. They are joined in these two broadcasts by FCC organist Robert Griffith and members of the Columbus Symphony.
I hope you'll tune in for both of these special performances this weekend.
First Community was part of Columbus Neighborhoods: Tri-Village, on WOSU-TV. You can see that segment below.
