Music and Politics with Shostakovich's Symphony no.5

Thursday, January 7th at 6:30 PM, Ohio Theatre

Shostakovich walked a tightrope by composing in the Soviet-led Russia, and his relationship with the Soviet government was often complicated at best.

CSO director, Rossen Milanov, will discuss this unique creative and political atmosphere before playing his fifth symphony.

After the concert, join Rossen and the CSO musicians for a vodka tasting and smoked salmon mousse hors d'oeuvres made by Rossen himself!
