Celebrate the 4th of July with Music

It's hard to beat the Fourth of July.  Fireworks displays, cookouts and picnics, a day at the pool...but no July 4th celebration is complete without some great music.

There are several entertainment opportunities this weekend.  If Red, White, and Boom simply isn't enough, or is maybe too much:

Music and fireworks await you on the evening of the 4th with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra.  Their annual Patriotic Pops performance takes place at Columbus Commons downtown.  They're joined by the Columbus Gay Men's Chorus for a fabulous evening of favorites under the stars, capped off with fireworks.

The New Albany Symphony Orchestra presents the 3rd Annual New Albany Independence Day 5k Run & Walk on Saturday, July 4.  The event will offer a 20 Yard Toddler Crawl, 1/4 Mile Shirck Orthodontics Kids FUN Run and a 5k which will have a Run & Walk Division, so everyone can get in on the action. They'll offer live performances along the race course by the New Albany Symphony and local non-profit performing arts groups. It will be immediately followed by the Annual New Albany 4th of July Parade at 10:30am which will go through Market Square.

The Dublin Wind Symphony holds their July 4th performance Saturday morning at 10am at Dublin Community Church, 81 West Bridge Street, Dublin, OH 43017.

The Central Ohio Symphony performs on the Ohio Wesleyan University Main Campus in Delaware Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m.  Lawn seating is free (you can bring a lawn chair) and seats in front of the stage are available for a nominal fee.

If you'd like to take a little road trip, the Lima Symphony has 7pm concerts both Friday and Saturday, along with a number of other events.

The Newark-Granville Symphony has an 8pm  July 3rd concert with fireworks at the Martha Grace Reese Amphitheatre on the OSU Newark campus.

If you need a bit of Liberty & Lunacy, the 32nd Annual Doo Dah Parade stumbles into motion around 1pm Saturday.  In their words:

Line-up begins somewhere around Noon at Goodale & Park. There's a FREE Music Block Party at High & Buttles from 10 a to 10 p.  Watch or March in the Craziest Parade in History!   No entry fee, Just show up!

As you can see, there is PLENTY to do in C-bus this weekend.  Enjoy, but not too much!
