Prokofiev’s score for Cinderella is being paired with the masterful choreography of Edwaard Liang and the BalletMet dancers in Columbus this month.
The classic fairy tale seems to be receiving a few modern touches, if the BalletMet production images are any indication. Artistic Director Edwaard Liang will be in the studio Thursday, March 19th at 9:00 am to talk about the music, the dancing, and the artistic vision behind BalletMet’s retelling of the damsel and her iconic glass slipper.
I have been told there is another Cinderella film coming out this week, but nothing compares to the ballet in my eyes, and I highly doubt that the music will be anything on par with Prokofiev, but what do I know?
