Muppet Mondays: Flamingo Domingo

One thing the Muppet Show and Sesame Street could always do was land big name guests. Not only that, they seemed to be willing to perform with almost anyone, or anything. The first Placido to appear as a Muppets was not from Spain — rather, he appeared to be from Florida.  Placido Flamingo sang a song which was eerily prescient, an ode to his telephone. Though it was performed in 1987, long before any phones became smart, he seemed to know that people would soon be irretrievably attached to their cells. Placido Domingo would return the favor the following year as part of the 20th anniversary celebration of Sesame Street. Watch below, as the other Placido...Domingo...sings a duet with his fluffy counterpart. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fi3ix6lMqvU
