Okay, okay. Eugenie Grunewald is a world class mezzo-soprano whose career takes her from New York and Texas to Barcelona and Beijing. Genie is an OSU alumna where she became the protegé of two great people, Professors Eileen Davis and James Gallagher. I've heard Genie in the great Verdi roles: Amneris, Azucena in Columbus and New York. It's a big, glamorous voice. She's an artist on stage and an artist and a hoot offstage. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YR53N2hkZ24 Genie is coming home this weekend to give a recital at Worthington Presbyterian Church, 773 High Street at 161. Sunday, October 2 at 3 PM. Free admission. The wonderful pianist Ed Bak is her accompanist. If you want an afternoon of beauty, drama and laughs you can either listen to me on the radio (!)) or go to church this Sunday afternoon. Genie is the real deal. Don't miss her. (She can cook, too!)
