Intel has reportedly reached a tentative deal with a Taiwanese company to form a joint venture to operate Intel's factories.

Reuters cited a report from the tech site The Information that Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) will take a 20% stake in the new company.

TSMC is the world's largest contact chipmaker.

Reuters says that Intel and TSMC declined comment.

Intel reported a net loss of $18.8 billion in 2024.

Intel continues to build two chip plants in New Albany in Licking County, a project valued at $28 billion. Intel has delayed the completion date of the first plant to 2030.
