Former Ohio State Rep. Otto Beatty Jr. died on Friday. His wife Congresswoman Joyce Beatty announced his death on Twitter. Otto Beatty Junior was 81 years old.
In a tweet she said, "Otto will be missed but his legacy will live on eternally."

Otto served 18 years in the Ohio House from 1980-1998 and was also an attorney.
City councilman Shannon Hardin tweeted "Columbus lost a community giant today" and that Beatty was a father figure to many in Columbus.
