Doulas are happy that a new certification process will allow the state to reimburse them for services through Medicaid. It's meant to help improve infant mortality rates in the state, but they say the process is making it harder for doulas to serve pregnant women.

With DeWine’s signature, more than 20 bills are now law, some with pages and pages of provisions. Most of the laws take effect later this year, in October.

The 1953 law makes it a fourth-degree felony for two or more people to commit a misdemeanor “while wearing white caps, masks, or other disguise.”
