The largest increase in 46 years is coming to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, better known as Food Stamps. We’ll learn how the food stamp program has changed and continues to serve as a safety net for individuals and families.

Leaders of Ohio’s food banks are thankful because controversial changes that made it harder for Ohioans to get food assistance were removed from the state budget.

Advocates for low-income Ohioans are urging lawmakers to take what they call a harmful provision out of the state budget bill. An amendment added by the Senate would impose asset limits for people using federal assistance for groceries, often referred to as food stamps.
