Franklin County Judge Once Again Found Guilty Of Misconduct

The Ohio Supreme Court on Tuesday found Franklin County Municipal Court Judge Amy Salerno guilty of judicial misconduct for a second time.
The unanimous decision gives Salerno a one-year suspension of her law license, but the entire suspension will be stayed if Salerno avoids further misconduct, reimburses the court $531 for the proceedings, and takes six hours of training on judicial ethics.

Salerno's latest punishment comes after she admitted making improper contact with an attorney for an accused drug dealer before reducing their bond. In the Tuesday decision, she also admitted to losing her temper with a prosecutor when she quickly declared a traffic case defendant not guilty to help clear the docket.

In 2015, the Supreme Court reprimanded Salerno for lecturing jurors after she thought they wrongfully acquitted a man on trial for assault.
