The Ohio School Boards Association is calling for more charter school restrictions.
The Plain Dealer reports that the group updated its legislative platform Monday and is now trying to prohibit charter schools with poor grades or finances from advertising.
It also wants to require charters to disclose graduation rates on advertisements, as well as the school's performance index, which is the state's composite of student test scores and subjects.
The group also wants to force charters and private schools that receive state voucher funding to report student performance like traditional public schools, and they don't want any money for facilities to go to charter schools.
It opposed an item passed in the state budget that allows $25 million to go to strong charter schools for buildings or renovations.
