Now that a marijuana legalization issue is set to appear on the fall ballot, groups against it are wasting no time in starting their work against it.
The official campaign against the ResponsibleOhio issue launches today, with groups opposed to the issue sharing their concerns about the 10 official growing sites owned by investors that are part of the constitutional amendment to legalize marijuana in Ohio.
And some groups are already sharing their opposition, such as the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce, the Ohio Manufacturers Association and the Council of Smaller Enterprises in Cleveland. But ResponsibleOhio was ready for this, and its investors have promised millions toward the campaign to get voters to approve the issue.
There’s also an issue this fall backed by state lawmakers that would prevent specific economic interests to be put into the state constitution - that amendment would block ResponsibleOhio’s if they both pass.
