The water advisory for parts of Franklin County remains in effect. The amount of nitrate in the water has changed.
The level of nitrates in the Dublin Road Water Plant dropped to 10.7 parts per million, Monday, according to the city of Columbus. That’s lower than it was Thursday when it was at 11.4.
To put the numbers into perspective, if there was a bucket that contained one million drops of water, 10.7 of those drops would be nitrate.
The EPA requires a water advisory if nitrates reach 10 parts per million in drinking water.
Infants under six months of age and pregnant women should not consume tap water.
Columbus water officials originally estimated the advisory to last a couple of weeks.
