Four Columbus high schools were on a precautionary lockdown today. A Columbus City Schools spokeswoman says Northland, Whetstone, Linden-McKinley, and Mifflin High Schools were all placed on lockdown today. She would only say it was because of a threat, while several media outlets report the lockdown came to prevent any potential gang violence after a boy was murdered on the East Side last night. Police say 16-year-old Zyshonne Jenkins was killed in a shootout on E. Livingston Avenue. The other person involved reportedly fled the scene and as of this afternoon had not been publicly identified by police.
