Concerts@Ohio State: A Generic Up-Tempo Folk Song

ONE AUDIO PIECE Please join me Sundays at 3 PM beginning January 3rd for a new season of Concerts@Ohio State, with performances by the faculty and students of The School of Music of The Ohio State University. Our January 3rd program features Haydn's Mass in Time of War (I love the Latin title but I didn't want to be precious...oh, why not...Missa in tempore belli) conducted by Dr. Hilary Apfelstadt with a chamber orchestra of OSU students and faculty, and combined choirs. Then, there's this folk song. Larry Rand's Generic Up-Tempo Folk Song was performed by music faculty at a "Collage Concert" last October 5. Who knew music faculty could be adorable? [audio:up-tempo.mp3] Professor Graeme Boone, musicology (Harvard, yet!) banjo and vocals Professor Paul Robinson, banjo and vocals Professor Patrick Woliver, Director of Graduate Study, vocal Professor Jim Rupp, percussion Professor Andy Woodson, bass Somehow it makes me happy to know there's a music professor named 'Andy'. Enjoy this, and don't miss Concerts@Ohio State, Sundays at 3 pm beginning January 3.
