Broadway superstar Audra McDonald has won a record six Tony Awards, which is the most awarded to any performer in history.

She now has a chance to win a 7th trophy. On Tuesday, McDonald received her 10th Tony Award nomination.

Her nomination is for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Play for Ohio State Murders.

The one-act play tells the story of Suzanne Alexander, who is a college student at Ohio State. The play opened on Broadway in December of 2022 and had a limited run, closing in January of this year.

The play's author, Adrienne Kennedy, graduated from Ohio State in 1953 with a Bachelor's degree in education.

McDonald previously won Tony Awards in 1994 for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for Carousel, in 1996 for Best Featured Actress in a Play for Master Class, in 1998 for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for Ragtime, Best Featured Actress in a Play in 2004 for A Raisin in the Sun, Best Actress in a Musical in 2012 for Porgy and Bess and Best Actress in a Play in 2014 for Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill.

Bonnie Milligan, a 2006 Ohio State graduate, is also nominated for a Tony Award this year in the category of Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Musical for her role in the production Kimberly Akimbo.

The 76th annual Tony Awards are scheduled to take place on June 11.
