COLUMBUS, OHIO, October 28, 2014 — WOSU Public Media announces exciting, new features to its free mobile app available for users of iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Android and Amazon devices. The mobile app will continue to offer live audio streaming of 89.7 NPR News and Classical 101, and now extends WOSU TV broadcasts with on-demand videos from award-winning local productions and marquee PBS and PBS KIDS programs.
Beginning October 31, users of the mobile app will experience a streamlined design and be able to watch full episodes, previews and clips from WOSU Original Productions including ‘Broad & High,’ ‘Columbus Neighborhoods’ and ‘Columbus on the Record’, as well PBS shows like ‘Masterpiece’, ‘Antiques Roadshow’, ‘NOVA’ and ‘This Old House’. Whether at home or on the go, PBS KIDS favorites can also be viewed like ‘Curious George’ and ‘Wild Kratts’. And, WOSU TV’s schedule is integrated into the app so viewers can find out what show is on right then, or later in the day.
In addition to live audio streaming of 89.7 NPR News and Classical 101, the WOSU Public Media mobile app will continue to offer podcasts of the local public affairs program ‘All Sides with Ann Fisher’ and other national NPR shows including ‘Morning Edition’, ‘All Things Considered’, ‘Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me!’, and ‘This American Life’.
Listeners to Classical 101 can also listen to locally produced podcasts ‘In the Key of “D”anzmayr’, ‘Mozart Minute’ and ‘Opera Abbreviated’.
