“[Erin Wehrenberg] has a book called Soften, of, like, different poems and stuff. So when I started writing this song, the book was kind of like the lead-in for all the thinking for the song, which is why it’s dedicated to her.

But I don’t really know what it’s about. It’s just kind of like, I read the book a bunch and then I was just like, OK. And then I opened my mouth, and the song came out. So I can’t tell you what it’s about, but if you read the book and then hear the song, you can tell me what it’s about [laughs].” —Joe Camerlengo of Blanket Boys
