A statewide tornado drill scheduled for 9:50 a.m Wednesday, March 19, is part of a week-long effort to raise awareness of severe weather.

The National Weather Service in Wilmington says 74 tornadoes touched down in Ohio between January and the end of September, which caused almost $22 million in property damage around the state.

At least 200 buildings were damaged or destroyed. Galena and Berlin and Berkshire townships were among the hardest hit.
