The secretary of state keeps track of business filings and campaign finance records, and it oversees the elections run by Ohio’s county boards of elections. The race features Republican incumbent Frank LaRose, Democrat Chelsea Clark and Terpsehore "Tore" Maras

Terpsehore "Tore" Maras had challenged a decision to strike signatures from her petitions to make her ineligible for the November ballot.

The decision came after a hearing last week on the validity of some of her petition signatures.
