Backers of a bill to put cameras at Ohio’s 85 rest stops say they would prevent human trafficking and improve safety.

Columbus City Council voted to give the Short North Alliance and downtown Columbus' Capital Crossroads Special Improvement District $500,000 to deter crime in both areas.

Many Ohioans have security cameras inside their homes but state law prohibits residents who live in assisted living or long-term care nursing facilities from having them. A bill has been proposed in the Ohio legislature to change that.
