Emeritus Professor Pierre Agostini, along with two other honorees, has been named the recipient of the Nobel Prize in Physics for his work studying electronic dynamics in matter.

Honoring the humanitarian group, the Norwegian Nobel Committee in Oslo cites the "need for international solidarity."
