A key Democratic Senator who’s been concerned about President Biden’s $2 trillion sweeping economic package known as Build Back Better said he has his doubts it will pass this year. But Ohio’s Democratic Senator is feeling confident – a few weeks after predicting the bill would be done by Thanksgiving.

Lawmakers are juggling must-pass items, like addressing the nation's borrowing authority and an annual defense authorization package, along with major political priorities for Democrats.

Vice President Kamala Harris made a stop in the Buckeye State on Friday where she toured Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 189 in Columbus, met with apprentices, and spoke on how the Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal will benefit Ohioans.

Ohio's Democratic U.S. Senator said talks are going well, so the next step in President Biden's economic agenda will come up for a vote in short order.

Advocates for the plan say Ohio could gain a lot, but some question its price tag and who pays the bill.

The president promised to "build back better" after dealing with the pandemic. He also said he could work with Republicans, and his next legislative push will test that.

The Democrat's proposal seeks to address the country's racial wealth, opportunity and jobs gaps.

The former vice president's initiative calls to chart the United States on "an irreversible path" to net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.

The presumptive Democratic nominee's proposal includes a $700 billion investment in procurement and research and development for new technologies.
