The BeKind food packing event has been held since 2016, but Ohio State student life spokesman Dave Isaacs said this year will see the most meals ever packed.

For many Americans, 9/11 is now simply a date to mark, much like December 7th and the Pearl Harbor attacks. Even the military war colleges are moving on.

Nadia Zaiem was a 13-year-old 8th grader at a Westlake middle school on the day of the 9/11 terror attacks. She’d only started wearing a hijab, a Muslim head scarf, a month or two before, and was still “getting used to it and how people reacted to it,” she said.

They were destined for the Columbus Zoo but ended up spending five days in Gander, Newfoundland along with nearly 6,600 passengers on planes that were detoured when U.S. airspace closed.

Saturday marks 20 years since the 9/11 attacks. The collapse of the World Trade Center towers in New York claimed thousands of lives and altered the course of American life. In the immediate aftermath, first responders from around the country flooded into the city to assist with search and rescue efforts, among them Craig Mignogno, part of Ohio Task Force 1.
