The challenges of a summer election

Should it be harder to amend the state constitution? Ohio voters will decide on August 8.

The resolution would raise the threshold for approving an amendment from a simple majority to 60%.

This vote comes ahead of possible November ballot measures that could legalize recreational marijuana and codify the right to abortion in Ohio’s constitution

But this high-stakes special election comes with a special set of challenges.
