Newly-released text messages show just how closely Ohio Lt. Gov. Jon Husted worked with Akron-based FirstEnergy to pass the consumer-funded powerplant bailout known as HB6.
The texts, made public by the consumer watchdog group, the Ohio Consumers’ Counsel, also link Gov. Mike DeWine and Husted to FirstEnergy’s deferred prosecution agreement for the first time.
It’s another piece in the big puzzle that federal prosecutors have called the largest corruption case in Ohio history. We'll discuss this and more on our weekly reporter roundtable show.
Guests:
- Andrew J. Tobias, statehouse reporter for Cleveland.com
- Jo Ingles, statehouse reporter for Ohio Public Radio statehouse news bureau
- Laura Bischoff, politics and state government reporter, USA TODAY Network Ohio Bureau
