Former state Rep. Ron Hood of Ashville has joined the Republican field for Ohio governor in the May primary election.

The Republican field for the U.S. Senate seat has thinned per direction from Donald Trump, who still has not endorsed in the crucial race to replace outgoing Rob Portman.

At the same time, the GOP primary field for governor has expanded with former state Rep. Ron Hood joining the race.
