The worldwide travel industry took a once-in-a-century downturn in 2020, with international arrivals falling an estimated 74%.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention now says that both domestic and international travel is low risk for fully vaccinated Americans.
But much of the world lags behind the U.S. when it comes to vaccinations, casting doubt on a back-to-normal summer travel season.
