Governor Mike DeWine has proposed an 18-cents-per-gallon state gas tax increase to offset at least part of a billion-dollar-a year revenue shortfall for the Ohio Department of Transportation construction and maintenance of roads and bridges.
Ohio Senate President Larry Obhof has said that if there’s a tax hike on gas, a cut would be called for in income taxes.
