Half of Americans think our nation’s democracy is in danger. A recent report from the Freedom House, George W. Bush Institute, and the University of Pennsylvania’s Biden Center also found that a majority of Americans think democracy is weak.
These opinions have been previously observed with researchers blaming weak political parties and strong partisanship. Current opinions about money and influence in politics also contribute to Americans’ lack of confidence.
