The First Congress

Federal Hall in New York City is where the first Congress met, and is also the sight of where George Washington was first sworn in as president.

The first Congress used the Constitution of the United States to try and piece together how to actually make the government they envisioned work. It took the minds of James Madison, Alexander Hamilton, Thomas Jefferson and more to make the ideals of the Constitution a reality. Today we discuss the what the first Congress did accomplish, how it did so, and its impact is on American politics today.
