WOSU Public Media has collated a list of resources to help job seekers during this difficult time. These community organizations are continuing to offer programming and training – as well as additional resources in this time.

Workforce Development Board of Central Ohio and Ohio Means Jobs

With the novel coronavirus putting many jobs in jeopardy, the Workforce Development Board of Central Ohio is seeking to connect potential workers with training and available positions. Franklin County Skills Boost
The Franklin County Skills Boost is meant to directly aid those who have lost their livelihoods due to the coronavirus. See if you qualify for the program using the link above – where you can apply online.

Accelerate Career Success
This program helps connect job seekers to growing jobs in healthcare and information technology. The training sessions can be taken virtually and assistance is available post-training to place job seekers in jobs.

Goodwill Columbus
Workforce Development services from Goodwill Columbus have gone online. Visit Goodwill Columbus’s social media pages to see how you can get involved:

Jewish Family Services
During this time, JFS is continuing to provide job seekers career advice via video and phone.

Weekly virtual workshops addressing careers, self-care, professional development, parenting, and more are also open to the community. To register, visit their site here.

Columbus Public Health
Your health is also important during this time. The following resources on Columbus Public Health’s website are available in English, Spanish and Somali.

Hands On Central Ohio
To connect to various social, health and government resources during this time, Hands On Central Ohio has a search tool available.
