WOSU TV Viewers – Thank you for your patience

We are pleased to report as of Thursday, April 23, 2020, WOSU TV’s over-the-air signal is now broadcasting back at full power. It’s time to rescan to have your TV find our channels (instructions below).

This was an FCC-mandated transition that resulted in the installation of a new transmitter and antenna on our tower in Westerville. That work experienced weather delays and we had some equipment failures. Now, our signal should be restored in most cases by antenna viewers doing a complete rescan of your television set. We apologize for the inconvenience.

If you are experiencing service disruption of WOSU TV 34.1, WOSU Kids 34.4, WOSU Plus 34.3 and WOSU Ohio 34.2, and are using an indoor antenna, try reorienting the antenna with the front of it facing in a North/Northeast direction and then rescanning. (Rescan directions below.)

Check back to this site often for updates on this issue.

What’s happening?
WOSU has been updating our equipment to comply with FCC requirements, which has caused brief interruptions to your over-the-air signal on WOSU TV, WOSU Ohio, WOSU Plus (Create) and WOSU Kids. Check this page for up-to-date information about what’s happening throughout the process. Work has been taking place throughout March and continuing into early April 2020.

Once the work is completed, if you use an antenna to get WOSU TV you will need to rescan your television to find our channels. Learn how to rescan your television through the video below.

When is it happening?
Work has been taking place throughout March and is continuing into early April. We believe the work will be complete by Friday, April 3, 2020.

Viewers with Spectrum cable television service should not experience any signal interruption. If you are a Spectrum subscriber and experience problems, please contact Spectrum directly. However, if you watch WOSU via any other cable or satellite providers as well as YouTube TV, please note that the signal could be interrupted at some point in the process.
