Members of the Franklin County Board of Elections voted unanimously to raise the pay for certain poll workers.

For the upcoming August 8 election, voting location managers can earn up to $333.72, which is an increase of about $90.

Voting location deputies can earn up to $303.72, which is up from $218.72.

Roster, paper and machine judges can receive up to $278.72, which is a boost from $193.72.

A regular poll worker's pay is capped by law at $133.72 for Election Day work.

The board says it hopes the pay hike will attract additional applicants who want to serve the voters of Franklin County.

It's estimated about 5,000 poll workers are used in Franklin County on Election Day.
