On this week's episode:
Automatic For The People
A new bill would automatically register people to vote when they attend public high school or when they go to an Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles office. It would make the registration process opt-out instead of opt-in.
Legislation that makes it easier to vote is often controversial over fears of fraud or abuse, but there is a similar bill introduced in the Senate with bipartisan co-sponsors.
Medicaid Mess
Ohio Medicaid director Maureen Corcoran said says she inherited a "mess" from the Kasich administration. She says the way Kasich’s team implemented parts of the Medicaid program was the worst she’s seen in her 30-year professional career.
Kasich spokesman Jim Lynch defended the former governor, saying Kasich did a lot for Medicaid by cutting the growth of spending and expanding coverage to 700,000 additional Ohioans.
Snollygoster Of The Week
By delaying the delivery of articles of impeachment against President Trump, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi increased pressure on the U.S. Senate to call witnesses and introduce new evidence to the trial.
In the past few weeks, more information has come to light, former National Security Advisor John Bolten has agreed to testify, and indicted Rudy Giuliani associate Lev Parnas said publicly that the president knew about the Ukraine scheme.
