As the Dispatch continues to cover every new pimple that shows on a reserve QB’s face across the way from WOSU at the Buckeye practice field, some new research from Media Audit has stated the obvious –we have some crazy football fans in Columbus who consume media about college football like few other communities in America.

The latest rankings, focused on how many adults tune into college football on TV or radio, showed that the Birmingham/Tuscaloosa market (my old stomping ground) is #1, closely followed by our friends in Madison, Wisconsin and Columbus, Ohio.  Little Rock, Ann Arbor and, strangely Toledo are also up there in not getting enough college football to sooth their souls.

Studies were conducted in 80 metro markets between January 2010 and March 2011 among more than 104,000 respondents.
